Adrian Wilkinson (Geotechnical Director), is an aggregates geologist with over 17 years experience solely within the quarrying industry undertaking site investigations and producing quarry development plans. He is a Chartered Geologist and Fellow of The Geological Society of London, a Member of the European Federation of Geologists, a Member of the Institute of Quarrying and a Member of the Irish Mining and Quarrying Society. Educated in Applied and Environmental Geology at Birmingham University and Applied Geotechnics at Camborne School of Mines, he was formerly employed by RMC (now Cemex) and Tarmac. He formed Land and Minerals Consulting Ltd in 2004 and in 2006 the Company adopted the trading name QuarryDesign to reflect more accurately the nature of the work being undertaken and to promote its links with the mineral planning consultancy QuarryPlan Ltd.
Adrian Charters (Geological Director), is an aggregates geologist with over 27 year’s experience within quarrying, specialising in quarry development planning, site investigations, planning application submissions and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. He graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an honours degree in Geology and later a MSc in Industrial Minerals from University of Hull in 1984. He subsequently held a Senior Geologist position at RMC (now Cemex) for 3 years, followed by 9 years as Geological Manager for Tarmac Northern. In 2000, he was a founding director of Key GeoSolutions Ltd., and additionally consulted part-time with Quarryplan Ltd. Adrian joined Aggregate Industries in 2003 as Northern Region Geological Manager and moved to Denver Colorado, USA in 2005 where he became US Geological Services Manager for Aggregate Industries Inc. Whilst in the US, he managed 2.3 billion tonnes of reserves in over 200 quarries, a team of seven geological professionals, due diligence for acquisitions to the value of $350 million and managed an annual departmental budget of $2.5 million. He is a Chartered Geologist and Fellow of The Geological Society of London, a Member of the European Federation of Geologists and a Member of the Institute of Quarrying. In 2010, he relocated to Dorset to open a new office of QuarryDesign.
Jack Manuel (Geotechnical Engineer), is a graduate member of the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining (IoM³) and a Fellow of the Geological Society. Educated in Geology at Keele University and Geotechnical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh, he has been employed by QuarryDesign since September 2007.
Bob Wilkinson (Utility Location Engineer), manages our Subterranean Utility Location section. Initially this was undertaken in advance of geological site investigations, but latterly the division has provided detailed plant site plans of buried services prior to plant and infrastructure upgrades.
